The year 2013 is going to say a goodbye to us very shortly. During this year, we had many major launches from almost all the giant Smartphone manufacturers of the world. The South Korean manufacturer Samsung launched many new high end Smartphones including Samsung Galaxy S4 & Note 3, while Apple launched its iPhone 5C & 5S. The Finnish manufacturers; Nokia also launched Smartphones like Lumia 1020 & Lumia 1520.
However, the budget Smartphone segment was also in great demand. The year witnessed many budget Smartphone launches in Google’s Nexus series, Samsung’s Galaxy Series and Nokia Lumia’s series. The budget Smartphones segment is one of the hottest selling Smartphone segments of this ongoing year.
Looking forward to the success of the budget Smartphone segment, the Google owned handset manufacturing unit Motorola has launched its latest offering Moto G in the segment. Motorola has lots of expectations from this Smartphone even though Motorola cell phones had got a revolution in technology before. The success of Moto G can bring a sigh of relief for the fellowship and support Motorola’s surviving strategy.
Motorola Moto G boasts a stylish & slim body and is available in various vibrant color options. Beneath, it bears a very decent configuration, which according to price tag added is much appreciable. Moto G sports a 4.5 inch HD ‘edge-to-edge’ display, which produces a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels at a rate of 329 ppi. For the safety, this display boasts Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
But the main ingredient of the Smartphone, i.e, its processor is something to cherish at this price tag. Motorola Moto G is powered by a 1.2GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 supported by Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Moto G has an advantage over its competitors that it is powered by an Octa core processor while other smarphones in the segment carry a Dual core processor.
Initially, Motorola Moto G runs on Google’s Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Operating system but this Smartphone is confirmed to taste Android 4.4 KitKat OS update in January 2014. According to the reports, the Smartphones shipped during the same month will be running the updated OS. The latest Android operating system will add a couple of new features on this Smartphone.
For your photography needs on the go, Moto G houses a 5 megapixels rear camera coupled with an LED flash. It also carries a 1.3 mega pixels front camera for your video calling needs. You can record 720p HD videos with the rear camera. Its features include shoot in burst mode & panorama, which is quite good in this price segment. This Smartphone comes in two variants. One has 8GB of internal memory, while the other has 16GB of it. Nonetheless, both variants miss out an external MicroSD card slot which is a bit disappointing with the device.
For Connectivity, this Smartphone supports 3G, GPRS with EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, WI-Fi, WI-Fi Hotspot, MicroUSB 2.0 and other standard connectivity options. This Smartphone is fuelled with a 2070mAH battery, which according to the company will give 30% more talk time than Apple’s iPhone 5S.
Overall, Motorola G is a complete Smartphone with an awesome Octa Core processor and an attractive price tag. It would be interesting to what the rivals will now plan out to give an equal competition to Motorola Moto G
